It doesn’t happen very often, but occasionally I will come across an image in a magazine or the internet that I will immediately look away from or turn the page. Recently I was looking for images of the Icelandic volcano eruption on the internet, and when the catalog of images presented itself, I immediately started feeling anxious and fearful. Only of the images taken at night with the static lightening illuminating the enormous column of ash, and of some just of the ash plumes during the day. I could only deal with looking at the thumbnails. I could not bring myself to opening the image to full screen, because the image terrified me. Images of tornadoes, and unusual weather phenomenon (particularly the beautiful but terrifying images of supercells) also cause me great anxiety. Recently someone showed me a hi res image of the storm clouds of Jupiter taken by Juno and I simply could not look at them (terror) as beautiful as they were. Any thoughts or ideas as to what this may mean?
